De Fiets Soigneur Academy
Learn the craft. Make the difference.
A well cared for bike stands out. A well protected bike stays beautiful. At De Fiets Soigneur, everything revolves around attention to the bike. We are happy to share that attention.
Our practical courses help you develop specialist skills in Bicycle Detailing and Bike Armour: applying transparent protective film. You work with professional materials and tools and learn the techniques we use in our workshop every day.

Bicycle Detailing Training
Specialist bicycle care. Down to the smallest detail.
Bicycle detailing is a craft. It takes knowledge of paint finishes, materials and techniques to treat a bike thoroughly and achieve a high-quality finish.
You learn to assess a bike’s condition, choose the right treatment and carry it out with care. From paint care and ceramic coatings to a thoroughly cleaned drivetrain, you develop a specialism that makes a visible difference.
What will you learn?
- Steam cleaning: targeted, careful cleaning, with attention to delicate components and hard-to-reach areas.
- Polishing gloss paint: assessing the finish and using the right techniques, polishing compounds and tools to improve gloss and appearance.
- Deep cleaning matte paint: thorough cleaning while preserving the matte finish.
- Applying two different ceramic coatings: preparing the surface, selecting the right coating, applying it correctly and checking the finish.
- Deep cleaning the drivetrain: removing dirt and old lubricants and preparing the drivetrain for fresh lubrication.
- Applying lube or hot wax: learning the differences, preparation and correct application of both methods.
A valuable course for bicycle mechanics, detailers and dedicated cycling enthusiasts who want to work to a professional standard.
Bike Armour Training
Learn to protect bikes with transparent film.
A beautiful bike deserves protection. During this course, you learn to cut PPF (Paint Protection Film) to size and apply it carefully to bicycles.
From the initial cleaning to the final finish, you work through the complete process. You learn where protection is needed, how to create a suitable template and how to fit the film neatly to the contours of the frame.
What will you learn?
- Pre-cleaning: carefully cleaning and preparing the surface for the film.
- Choosing placement: deciding which areas need protection, based on the bike and how it is used.
- Measuring and making templates: taking accurate measurements and developing a suitable template.
- Cutting film to size: careful cutting for a neat fit.
- Application and finishing: positioning and applying the film, with attention to curves, edges and joins.
- Materials, tools, tips & tricks: using high-quality equipment effectively and recognising common mistakes.
Protection for the next adventure
Frame protection is especially relevant for bikepackers. Frame bags and fastening straps can rub against the paint during long rides. Gravel routes also expose a bike to flying dirt and small stones. You learn to apply protection precisely where it is needed.
Workshop knowledge. Ready to put into practice.
At De Fiets Soigneur, you learn by doing. We explain, demonstrate and guide you while you get hands-on. You discover the practical tips and tricks that make the difference, with attention to your technique and the final result.
